I am currently reading "Baki - The Grappler" which is a title I previously ignored because of my dislike for the art style, but I recently got hooked into reading it from a little summary my friend sent me: "It is a story of a boy wanting to beat his father for the title of "The Strongest Creature In The World" in hopes of gaining love from his mother, and the struggle of his mother choosing her motherhood over her womanhood ".
The most memorable quote I read was :"I know that you only love father...but if I defeat him...would you finally love me? It's okay if it's only a little tiny bit of your love for him...just a little". This quote made me realize that he was never fighting to become the strongest, it was for the love that he never felt from neither his mom nor his dad. The quote struck a chord with me as I never met my dad and my mother was absent for most of my childhood.
If I was the author of the book, I would change up the art style as it could scare away readers from an otherwise amazing story.
