Fast forward 300 years into the future, most of everyone from the original series is dead; yet, I don't see the narrative changing at all. The future will be riddled with technology and people will find ways to forget about the world. One escape will be the Kengan matches (one on one bouts to the death that originated in the underground arenas of ancient japan and is the main focus of the story). While everyone lives in a world with flying cars and interplanetary travel, there will be those who seeks the thrill in a brutish fist fight.

The link above leads to a music video by a game company that has nothing to do with my book series Im currently reading; yet, some how it is the perfect song for it.

A fighter that cringes at the thought of beings stronger than him breathing the same air as he do.
While on his journey to ultimately join a tournament to rediscover his past and claim the title of "Strongest", our hero inches closer to death after every opponent that he takes down.
His desire to be the strongest leads him to the point of no return.
The lyric is a perfect description of our hero's condition and the music itself is very much a "fight song" with a mixture of EDM and Rock.

If I could recreate a scene my book into film, it'll be a scene of which, our main character has just lost in his final fight in a recent tournament. He was dying throughout the series and this is where he meet his end, on a cliff, sitting down, his back against a tree. His longtime supporter and friend make small talk with him, says his goodbye whilst tears stream down his face. The friend has been pulled up and has grown because of our protagonist, and now he has to watch as his newly found friend die before him. Our main character says "thanks" and passes on. If I were to recreate this scene in film, then I wouldn't change anything besides not including music. I think that silence best sets the scene for this exchange.

Ultimately, I think that the author of "Berserk" wrote his book to create a world that is reflective of his own. When you look up the author for this series you will only find about two or three pictures of his face, like, ever. His name is Kentaro Miura, he is a very secretive and isolated individual and he confirmed that be based the character of the protagonist to reflect himself: a dark, yet intricate man that no one understood. Kentaro started writing "Berserk" in college; an especially dark period of his life that was filled with utter seclusion and loneliness, he wouldn't dare to go into detail when asked in the few interviews that he allowed.

New Title

If I were to choose a new title for my book it would probably be "Hell's March". The plot of the book follows a story of the main character and his mercenary crew being sacrificed to the demons of hell; yet he was able to make it out alive and became the sole survivor. However, our main protagonist was branded as sacrifice and thus, even in the real world he is hunted by supernatural beings and monsters. The only way for the hero to save his lover and get revenge for his crew was to slay the five "God Hands"(basically five satans); thus, beginning his march to hell.

P.S the original title is "Berserk".

I would recruit Skull Knight, a sentient skeleton clad in armor that rides on the back of a flying-undead-demon-horse; wielding an impenetrable shield and sword that could cut through reality itself. I am pretty certain you know why I would choose this character as to defend against the zombies; he alone could probably wipe out the whole zombie horde and the rest of humanity.
Though the book series I am following is great, I don't think it could help me fair against an endless horde of reanimated corpses. Unless I am able to craft a great sword the size of 2 fully grown adults and is able to swing it with enough force to slice through trees. Then it would be a different story.

this is what the character looks like.

The most important page in my book (new book from the old one) is a scene of the main protagonist sitting sideways on an open window staring into the dark blanket of stars. It shows our main character in a rare state of peace, there are no interruptions, no other characters, just a shirtless man of war finally quieting down and staring into blank space. This page captures the pain and torture our main characters have endured to get to this moment; his scar-ridden body covered in bandages, missing half of his left arm and only being able to see through his left eye.
This moment from chapter 290 page 21 shows him still alive in one piece after going through many layers of human hell.

week 8

This first 9 weeks was rough and went by pretty quickly, I'd probably have to shift gear and study more in the upcoming 9 weeks to compensate.

In my reading so far: the main character have finally met up and fought against his father; eventually beating him and earning the title of "Earth's Mightiest Fighter". With his dreams fulfilled the main character becomes lost and is trying to regain his purpose of living.

The award for my book will be the "Lifelike Illustration Award". This award is for books that can capture the essence of reality and be able blend it into fiction so naturally that you start to believe in the unnatural. The author in this book creates impossible characters that could do impossible feats, but his explanation of said feats are so well grounded and filled with belief that you some time wonder if the writer actually believes in his fairy tales . For example: the author of the book described how one can obtain superhuman reaction time by jumping off a cliff, to create a near death experience in order to unlock your minds and kick your instincts into maximum overdrive. Another example of the author's unreal explanation is: if you ignore the warnings and agony of your body and push to the point of no return, you can control the natural painkillers of your body; thus, becoming immune to the human limits.

Finish

1. The book made me cry because the main character lost his mother after experiencing her love for the first time. It was an amazingly beautiful and tragic moment.
2. This Book connected with my life through its main character: a young boy whom of which was disconnected from his parents from birth, much like me.
3. The most believable part of the book was the connection between mother and child that is shown through text and illustration. As when the main character is at death's door, his mother wasn't afraid to throw her life away to save her son.
